Social bike weekend in the Tankwa. All we are going to do is bike. DUAL and PLASTIC bikes. Supported OUTRIDE on Saturday. Wheelie and drag competition Saturday afternoon. 34 KM MARKED TRACK for the enduro/plastic bikes. LIVE MUSIC Friday and Saturday. Medics onsite.

… is a boutique music & arts festival, inspired in 2020 as a rebellion reaction against the loss of human rights suffered when the Covid-19 pandemic appeared.
Our first edition in October 2020 was intended for a very small group of guests and grew into something quite extraordinary. With two festivals per annum (Spring & Autumn editions) we intend to preserve the safe & intimate environment created thus far.
At the core of this experience is The Spirit Train (affectionately known as LOBO) – a passion project that was born on the desert playa of Afrikaburn during 2014, and came to life in 2015. After quite some hibernation LOBO has found his new home within the characteristic Tankwa Tented Camp.
A new journey has begun… a conscious community gathering around music, art, light, love and information. Freedom is our birth-right and your senses are our playground.
Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race

The Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race is a two-day gravel race deep in the Tankwa Karoo.
The third edition of this race will take place on the weekend of 26 to 28 May 2022.
The race has been specifically designed to test a modern gravel bicycle, however, our aim is to bring people who love bicycles together. We want to be as inclusionary as possible, so we welcome any type of bicycle to take part. Trophies will however be reserved for drop-bar gravel bicycles.
Tankwa Trail Run

Join us at the Stonehenge Private Nature reserve in the heart of the Tankwa Karoo for a unique 3-day trail run experience. The event will kick off on a Friday, with a 10km night run that will take you to the original Africa Burn site. This run is family-friendly and we aim to make it enjoyable for the kids too!
On Saturday, we will kick off early for the longer options that traverses the spectacular lunar landscape of the Tankwa. There will be a variety of distances to cater for all fitness levels, such as 13km, 27km and 39km. Here we will also be joined by kids from the local Elandsvlei school that will take part in the kids’ run – a 5km loop on an enduro section.
Starting this year, we have added a 15km option for the 3rd day. See you there !

Residency at Stonehenge Private Reserve.
Imagine a desert floor, undisturbed by human traffic. It’s not the absence of life that is so dramatically visual. It is a few million years old retrospective of ancient seabed and cataclysmic geological events in Earth’s history, and the footprint of storms and water flow in the riverbeds.
Vast pans nudge aside scrub and vlei and gentle hills and land, which drop outside of the quick glance, towards a perimeter of deep-set mountain horizon.
